Sr. Manager of Pricing

The Sr. Manager of Pricing – Group Health is responsible for providing Pricing Strategy and Pricing Proposals to the Group Health product team through data-driven analysis and price modeling.  This position will be responsible for managing the pricing process for the Group Health product and developing pricing recommendations to be presented to senior leadership.  The Sr. Manager will play a lead role in shaping One Call’s overall Group Health pricing models, proposals and capabilities.  This position will serve as an effective liaison with Group Heath partners in executive management, marketing, legal, finance, sales, and IT.

Management of the pricing process:

•        Scope and specify the organizational information required for effective Group Health pricing

•        Coordinate the collection and validation of relevant Group Health Pricing information from external Medicaid, Medicare and other Fee Schedule sources and across the organization, including peers in senior leaders in the finance, product, marketing, and sales organization

•        Synthesize analysis and present recommendations to senior management in an effective way to aid executives in making business decisions

•        Accumulate pricing knowledge over time to drive increasingly valuable business insights


Development of Group Health strategic pricing recommendations:

•        Combine business logic, rigorous analysis, and strategic perspective to develop Group Health pricing models, recommendations and proposals

•        Develop mastery of One Call’s internal financial and operational data sources across all functions, and interpret this data correctly to drive Group Health financial performance

•        Exercise solid, logical business judgment in the development of assumptions to inform the costs, revenues, and other operational inputs for the pricing of new Group Health products or the application of existing products to Group Health clients and channel partners

•        Apply external market knowledge, internal and external client context and history as a key lens to inform Group Health pricing decisions


Development of Group Health strategic pricing capabilities:

•        Identify, execute and manage specific initiatives to further the company's ability to effectively design and price Group Health focused products. Examples of such initiatives include:

o   Improve the understanding of Group Health price elasticity of demand

o   Analyze the trade-off between Group Health product attributes and demand

o   Review Group Health corporate margin requirements in the context of competitive and market constraints

o   Analyze effectiveness of past Group Health pricing decisions

o   Identify innovative healthcare pricing strategies and models incorporate them into our Group Health Pricing models, proposals and recommendations

o   Identify and implement improvements in analytical techniques and data infrastructure to improve the quality of Group Health pricing decisions


Stakeholder management:

•        Develop and maintain strong cross functional partnerships with internal One Call functions to ensure organizational support of Group Health pricing decisions

•        Be seen as a trusted business advisor by the leadership of the client and product teams


Here’s what you’ll bring to the team:

•        Bachelor's degree required

•        5-10 years of business experience or three to five years of experience after the completion of graduate business school

•        Group Health Business experience working in an analytic capacity in fields such as pricing analytics or financial analysis

•        Excellent knowledge of MS Excel

•        Ability to interact with senior management; strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to synthesize information into key messages appropriate for the audience

•        Intellectual curiosity and interest in using data to drive decisions

•        MBA preferred

•        SQL skills preferred
