Senior Program Manager - Group Health/Managed Care


The Program Manager is responsible for the implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of special programs, in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by the organization. The Program Manager oversees programs to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules, and budgets; coordinates interdepartmental functions in a timely and accurate manner for program changes.


  • Responsible for the implementation, management, supervision and evaluation of all One Call Care Management activities in support of special programs.

  • Remain up-to-date on all program modifications, implementing the same in a timely and organized manner.

  • Compile, maintain and report on the weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual program statistics as assigned.

  • Analyze trends in the program, identifying issues and developing and recommending solutions to the Senior Leadership team.

  • Work with One Call Care Management Leadership in executing complex projects/programs from design and development to production.

  • Work with One Call Care Management Leadership and impacted departments in defining requirements and plan project lifecycle deployment.

  • Work with One Call Care Management Leadership in defining resources and schedule for project/program implementation.

  • Create strategies for risk mitigation and contingency planning.

  • Work with One Call Care Management Leadership in planning and scheduling project deliverables, goals, and milestones.

  • Direct and oversee project engineering team and manages conflicts within group.

  • Work with One Call Care Management Leadership in efficiently identifying and solving program issues.

  • Communicate with all stakeholders.

  • Plan the program and monitoring its overall progress, resolving issues and initiating corrective action as appropriate.

  • Duties may be assigned as deemed necessary by management.


Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Five years or more of well documented professional work experience in directly related principles preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact well with diverse personalities and working styles.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated customer relationship management skills and possess the ability to interact directly with customers to identify and resolve program issues.

  • Must be experienced in interfacing with client managers and system users.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills including proper use of communication tools and technologies.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including some evenings and weekend requirements.


  • For roles located in office or home settings; this job is primarily sedentary and may involve repetitive motions; the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, speak, and hear.

  • For roles located in the field; this job is primarily active; the employee is regularly mobile and must be able to utilize transportation (such as driving), sit, use hands and fingers, speak, and hear.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift objects (up to 10lbs weight; up to 4 ft. height).

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to see things from a close distance and ability to adjust focus.

  • The work environment utilizes florescent lighting; noise level is moderate.
