Senior Pricing Analyst - Group Health Experience


JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Pricing Analyst is responsible for the review and validation of payor price change and the accurate maintenance of data in One Call Care Management’s Price Libraries and Price Groups within Intrepid. Responds to email, fax and telephone inquiries regarding payor pricing and interfaces with other areas of the business to ensure accuracy of payor price libraries. Analyzes pricing for accuracy and profitability including making recommendations.


GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepares pricing/profitability analysis for management review upon request.

    Receives and validates requests for payor price from Sales, Finance or other One Call Care Management departments.

  • Completes pricing changes according to the established business rules.

  • Reports system issues to Information Technology and work with Information Technology personnel to identify issues and resolve them.

  • Responds in a timely manner to inquiries regarding pricing changes and additions from, Sales, Billing, Collections and other One Call Care Management departments.

  • Takes initiative in process improvement.

  • Assists in establishment of new policies and ensuring compliance.

  • Completes other special projects as deemed necessary by management.


•         Oversees the day to day activities of one or more price analyst(s) as a supervisor.

 

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Accounting or Finance. 


GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Microsoft Access experience a plus.

  • Must have strong telephone skills and ability to communicate with others in a professional environment.

  • Must have strong organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.

  • Strong analytical skills required.

  • Must have the ability to work after hours and weekends if necessary.

  • Healthcare experience preferred. 

  • Commercial, Group Health, Medicare/Medicaid pricing experience preferred.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to see things from a close distance and ability to adjust focus.

  • The work environment utilizes florescent lighting; noise level is moderate.
