Job Description

Payroll Administrator - Ceridian or Paychex Experience

The Payroll Administrator processes and reconciles timecards, review timecards and handles sign offs.


•Facilitates the investigations and responds to all customer complaints and inquiries.
•Processes and pays all company employees accurately and timely.
•Reviews and processes all timecards for payment accurately and timely.
•Coordinates all governmental agencies filings.
•Creates and maintains schedules for all bonus and commission payments.
•Maintains schedules for PTO accrual and used hours for general ledger purposes.
•Processes wage garnishments, work with state and local agencies to comply with the orders’ intent.
•Distributes paychecks throughout the organization.
•Keeps current on all system updates.
•Keeps current on all laws that impact pay and taxes.
•Facilitates all governmental, state and local agency audits.
•Creates and maintains policies for payroll processes.
•Participates in year-end audits.


Associate’s degree (A.A. or A.S.) preferred or three (3) to four (4) years of related payroll experience and/or training and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or work experience.


•Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

•Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

•Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
•Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
•Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
•Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
•Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
•Must be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook (e-mail communication).
•Must have strong attention-to-detail.
•Must be able to keep strict confidence as the job requires the handling of sensitive information.
•Must have strong organizational skills to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
•Must have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
•Must have the ability to work after hours and weekends if necessary.

•Must have experience in use of Ceridian Dayforce or Paychex.


•For roles located in office or home settings; this job is primarily sedentary and may involve repetitive motions; the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, speak, and hear.
•For roles located in the field; this job is primarily active; the employee is regularly mobile and must be able to utilize transportation (such as driving), sit, use hands and fingers, speak, and hear.
•The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift objects (up to 10 lbs. weight; up to 4 ft. height).
•Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to see things from a close distance and ability to adjust focus.
•The work environment utilizes florescent lighting; noise level is moderate.
•The emotional demand of the job may cause undue stress from, but not limited to, moderate/heavy workload.
