Director, HR Project Management


Responsible for Project & Program Management for Human Resources. Translates business goals into an appropriate project management to accomplish those goals.


  • Builds project plans, develops requirements gathering & documents.

  • Identifies needed resources for projects, defines major project roles.

  • Coordinates activities and tasks among project team members, other internal departments and client or vendor/subcontractor organizations as needed to meet project goals and ensure project completion is on schedule, within budget constraints, and of the appropriate quality standards for the project scope.

  • Manages project risks, issues/problems, and activity progress to ensure project goals (e.g., deadline, scope and quality) are achieved. Assists with problem resolution or risk mitigation as needed.

  • Executes flawlessly, driving significant and measurable results.

  • Builds relationships across HR, cross-functional partners and all lines of business to help inform, shape and design plans.

  • Uses feedback, data and insights to inform/adjust communications planning and messaging.

  • Manages and/or writes, edits, and produces structure as necessary while ensuring quality standards are met.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.


Bachelor’s degree in Project/Program Management or Human Resources or other related degree or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Project Management Certification & experience & HR Communications experience & related Master’s degree are highly preferable.

Minimum of 8 years related experience required.


  • Human Resources best practices knowledge.

  • Proficiency to supervise, lead and manage.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to technical and non-technical audiences of various s levels in the organization (e.g. executive, management, individual contributors)

  • Excellent problem solving, team and time management skills managing multiple deadlines for self and others

  • Proficiency in evaluating the performance capabilities of subordinates as well as counsel subordinates in development and/or corrective discipline

  • Proficiency to operate independently

Director, Project Management

Expert/lead technical role. Expert knowledge of the field. Works on multiple projects as a project leader or technical leader/consultant. Works on complex tasks, projects or issues that involve a high degree of risk, impacts business unit performance and makes use of the individuals’ high level of knowledge within one or more areas of specialty. Regularly interacts with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance from others in sensitive situations without damage to the relationship.
